An ex Laundry crew member John Lawley (Just Cos We Can) is coming back to Rock the decks – John closed the night off at our first ever gig and those who were there will remember what a great night of uplifting pumping house music it was.

Also on the night is Egle Blondee (Audio Angels / Liaudiessokiai) – a young up and coming Lithuanian DJ who’s having some great success around Dublin right now – I promise you’ll never see anyone having more fun behind the decks than Egle. “Strahil Velchev a.k.a KiNK is an innovative, uncompromising producer and captivating dj and live performer from Bulgaria, incorporating the very best examples of underground dance music in his production.

At the age of 12 he was jumping up & down to acid, techno and early rave tracks. At 20 he got his hands on the first modular software synthesizer and a couple of years later released his first record.

There are a few things that shape Strahil’s accomplished, signature sound. “Take the soul of the 70`s music, the groove of house and techno, the futurism and detail of experimental electronica and the raw energy of acid”. This is how he defines his style.

KiNK is a multi-style producer, but his first release on Chris Duckenfield’s Odori imprint placed him firmly in the frame of house and techno where his productions can be found in the catalogues of such labels as Rush Hour, Pokerflat, liebe*detail, Mule Musiq, Classic, Macro, as well as featuring in the dj sets and Essential mixes of Francois K, Josh Wink, Steve Bug, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Paul Woolford, Jesse Rose and many more

Important points in KiNK`s production career so far are the classic chicago house-style releases with Neville Watson on Rush Hour and his remix of early dance music legend Patrick Cowley on Macro, which showed the experimental face of Strahil`s work .

KiNK`s stage presence is versatile and he performs both as a dj and live in all around the world, from Panorama Bar (Berlin) to Smart Bar (Chicago). At the same time Strahil is known in his hometown of Sofia for his broken beat / abstract hip-hop sets alongside artists like The Herbaliser and Jimi Tenor.

Strahil`s release schedule for 2010 is quite exciting including labels like Ovum, Poker Flat, Liebe*Detail, Freerange, Dirtybird, Rush Hour and Mule and he is enthusiastic about his own sound more than ever.”

This week we welcome two very well known Dublin DJ’s to the decks, Aaron Nolan and Citizen Black – with support from our Laundry Residents Colly and Giles K

In just 1 short year Citizen Black has managed to secure a number of releases and remixes on a number of international labels such as: Foreplay Records,Piston Recordings,Modular,F*** House Music,Recline Music,SK Yaris,Royal Soul Recordings,Bad Cake Records and Fourth Kind Records.

His particular style of jacking house is groovy and 100% dance floor friendly,which is why it’s no surprise that he has played at some of finest electronic music events in Ireland including :
Life Festival,Italian Factory,Big Dish Go,Hospital,The Weird Scientist,Solas Festival,Mixed Salad,Yes Festival,Nightflight,Citadel Sessions and more.

Former resident of acii disco / rubberband and now a resident at yes festival, Aaron Nolan’s been a solid DJ on the Dublin scene for some time now. For a taster , his June mix is available at http://www.lovethehardstuff.com/?p=4022 .

Just a week left until Life Festival 2010 kicks off in the beautiful Belvedere House in Co Mullingar. The lineup is very exciting – highlights being Ricardo Villalobios, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Chris leibing, LTJ Bukem, Infected Mushroo, – and of coruse Laundry DJ’s too! It’s going to be a great weekend and we’re looking forward to seeing loads of you down there for what is heating up to be the festival of the summer!

We will also be announcing our new weekly Saturday night venue soon. It will bring some memories back for many of you and will offer everyone else a new and reliable destination weekly in a central location in Dublin City Centre

Thanks to everyone who made the Laundry Launch night a HUGE success last week, I think everyone agreed it was a fantastic night and we hope you all had as much fun as we did. The dancefloor was packed all night with a superb selection of house and techno being laid down by our residents, who were at the washing machine controls for the whole night.

It doesn’t stop there though – Laundry continues EVERY SATURDAY @ The Pint, Eden Quay, Dubin 1. So if you missed it last week make sure to Spin down again this Saturday and check it out!

This coming Saturday – 10th of October we’d like to extend a warm alpine fresh welcome to three of Dublin’s most talented DJs, each with their own completely unique DJing styles:

Barry Greaves (Automate)
Diggers (Deep Into The Bowels Of House)
Mark Allton (Up!)

Barry Greaves’ sound is best described as deep, dark and heavy, with chinks of understated wonkiness never too far away.

Stepping up after Barry will be Diggers, know for his considered and consumate selection of deep house and tech house, as well as having the abilty to step things up a bit when required.

Wrapping things up for us on the night with a 2 hour set will be the evergreen Mark Allton. With 17 years experience we expect Mark to dip into the full range of house, techno and disco sounds in his bag – taking us on a journey of sound and then some. Not to be missed!

Kicking proceedings off on the night will be our very own Conky, who will be keeping things 100% deep for the first hour. Just the way we like it
